More than 1,300 Maritime trucks are proudly displaying the poppy this November as part of the company’s nationwide show
of support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Now in its eleventh year, the initiative forms part of a long-running partnership with the Royal British Legion and reflects
Maritime’s continued support for the Armed Forces community.
Poppies were fitted in a coordinated effort spanning all 41 Maritime locations, creating a fleet-wide display that supports
national awareness of the Appeal throughout the Remembrance period.
John Williams, Group Executive Chairman, Maritime Transport:
‘The Poppy Appeal remains one of the most recognised acts of national remembrance, and one that continues to fund essential
services for veterans, serving personnel, and their families. From recovery and rehabilitation to housing, employment,
and welfare, the Royal British Legion provides lasting support to many of the most vulnerable in our society, wherever
and whenever it’s needed. We’re very proud to once again play our part in raising the Appeal’s profile and supporting
the Legion’s work in communities across the country.’
Maritime’s 2025 donation will contribute to the Legion’s year-round support for the Armed Forces community. In 2024, that
support reached more than 27,000 people, from emergency grants to recovery programmes, made possible by over £116 million
raised through the Poppy Appeal and other fundraising activity.
Mandi Cox-Osborne, Poppy Appeal Manager – Suffolk, The Royal British Legion:
‘With demand for our services growing year on year, the Poppy Appeal remains a vital way for us to reach the Armed Forces
community at every stage of life, whether that’s a veteran transitioning to civilian life, a young family facing hardship,
or an older person experiencing loneliness. Support from organisations like Maritime makes that possible. Their continued
backing helps us to fund this essential work, while putting the Appeal in front of thousands of people across the country.
We’re incredibly grateful for their continued support in this, our eleventh year working together.’
