One of the UK’s leading providers of integrated supply chain solutions, Maritime Transport Ltd. (Maritime), celebrated its distribution division’s tenth anniversary on Monday 1st February.
Initially providing container transport solutions from its 136-truck inception, Maritime diversified into the domestic distribution sector on 1st February 2011 with the purchase of 100 curtainsiders, as part of its ongoing strategy to provide complete supply chain coverage to its customer base.
From a standing start, Maritime has developed its distribution division at pace which now forms a key part of the company’s operational model – a major factor in contributing to Maritime’s growth. To date, 16 of Maritime’s 40+ depots host dedicated distribution fleets, with the division now turning over annual revenues of more than £150million. This is all completed through a fleet of 400 vehicles delivering an average of 6,000 customer deliveries per week, 24/7.
