Hat-trick hero: Maritime named Road Freight Operator of the year

Posted 15 May 2018

Following the success of their attendance at Multimodal 2017, Maritime Transport Ltd returned to the NEC this year for the three-day event. Their stand, celebrated for its beautiful decor and hospitality, gave Maritime the opportunity to reconnect with existing clients, share insight and advice, and to discuss opportunities with other businesses from across the UK.

‘Multimodal has always been a fantastic opportunity for us to meet with existing customers, and to see how we can benefit new ones,’ said Simon Smart, Managing Director - Containers. ‘We’ve come away from the event with some amazing feedback, and we’re really looking forward to working even harder towards developing our relationships with the people we work with.’

After a successful first day at the event, Maritime was named ‘Road Freight Operator of the year’ for the third consecutive time by The Freight Transport Association (FTA), at the FTA Multimodal Awards.

The prestigious ceremony, presented by Geoff Miller OBE, and held at the VOX, saw over 900 exhibitors, sponsors, and VIPs from across the logistics supply chain come together to celebrate industry success. Several leading businesses attended the awards, which recognises prominence in air, road, rail, maritime and freight forwarding services, and are voted for by thousands of Multimodal Newsletter readers, as well as FTA members and Multimodal exhibitors and their customers.

‘We were extremely pleased to receive the award for the second time last year, so to receive it for a third time was incredible, and fantastic recognition of our efforts over the past year,’ said John Williams, Group Managing Director of Maritime. ‘We’ve been working tirelessly to improve as the business and our customer base grows, ensuring the solutions we offer and the services we provide remain unparalleled.’

Multimodal, now in its twelfth year, continues to connect and improve businesses, whilst recognising those that continue to lead within the transport sector.
