Working as part of the Accounts department, based at our modern Head Office in Felixstowe, the successful candidate will develop their career in a dynamic workplace whilst supporting and encouraging an enthusiastic team at all levels.

In your role as General Manager – Finance, you will be responsible for leading the overall accounting function of a £300m business, reporting into the Finance Director. Whilst motivating and managing three direct reports, you will have overall responsibility for 28 members of staff. You will help drive change by implementing new technology and developing existing controls, procedures and processes within the business and you will feel confident in the integrity of the finance information you provide to not only satisfy external Auditors but to also aid strategic decision making by an extremely experienced Board of Management.

Joining the business in this senior position, you will be an excellent communicator with exceptional analytical skills and will have previous experience of managing a large team. With a strong work ethic, IT skills and a solid understanding of Microsoft programs you will be able to influence, encourage and build successful internal and external working relationships.

Your role and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Leading the overall finance function of a £300m business, reporting directly into the Finance Director
  • Managing and encouraging a large and growing team of 28 members of staff with 3 direct reports
  • Developing and improving existing controls, procedures and processes
  • Implementing technology to provide more robust financial information to aid a higher quality of decision making
  • Presenting results to non-accounting personnel through the development of management information and KPI’s
  •  Aiding strategic decision making by a hands on and experienced management team by delivering accurate monthly management accounts and board reports
  •  Managing the preparation of budgets and ongoing forecasts
  •  Preparing year end statutory accounts, including group consolidations
  •  Planning and coordinating the annual audit
  •  Satisfying external Auditors with the integrity of financial information provided
  •  Overseeing tax compliance, payments and planning

  • Creating and developing relevant periodic management reports
  • Developing outstanding internal and external working relationships
  • IT programs, unpinned with solid Microsoft experience
