Maritime Transport (Maritime) is pleased to announce the opening of a new Operating Centre in Leighton Buzzard.
The site will have a capacity to keep 70 vehicles and 100 trailers over three acres and strengthens the Company’s position along the M1 corridor, being close to existing distribution centres in Northampton and Milton Keynes as well as on London’s doorstep.
Dave Boomer – Managing Director – Distribution said of the new centre: “Leighton Buzzard will be one of a number of new openings in a key strategic location for Maritime moving forward. It is ideally situated to enable us to support current contracts and further growth we expect over 2016 and beyond.”
The opening of the new site takes Maritime’s depot count to 27, and a fleet size of over 1,500 trucks; Leighton Buzzard Depot represents yet another expansion for the Company which is continuing to experience phenomenal growth.
“We are excited about the possibilities of this new depot which reaffirms our already-strong position along the length of the M1 – Britain’s spine. Early indications are that the driver market is robust and we are looking to tap into this in due course.” said Rob Brennan, newly appointed Depot Manager - Leighton Buzzard.
The Leighton Buzzard Depot represents the first of a number of planned new sites for 2016, a move that will further reinforce Maritime’s position as a market leader in logistics. The depot will be based on the Spinney Park Industrial Estate.
