Have you got experience in designing and delivering new-build and remedial ground works projects with specific skills in heavy-duty pavements and drainage?  

Maritime Transport is the fastest growing transport and logistics company in the UK today. From a small, five-site organisation when it was acquired into private ownership in 2001, we now have 26 sites and over 140 acres of mixed freehold and leased properties, comprising of offices, transport and open storage depots, rail terminals and warehouses. 

We have a role for a permanent, full time Civil/Projects Engineer to support our Property Director to develop and deliver new sites and manage a continuous programme of maintenance and repairs to existing sites. Most of the work focuses on the design and delivery of heavy-duty, pavements for open storage stacking of freight containers, HGV parking and rail terminals, but projects will include demolition of existing buildings and the construction of new offices and warehouses.  

The Role:

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • The delivery of a wide range of heavy-duty pavements and building structures projects under minimal supervision

  • Project management, including - design and planning of new pavements and structures, tenders, conditions of contract, budgets and contractors

  • Compliance with Building and Health and Safety Regulations

 Key Skills:

  • Qualification in Engineering

  • Significant project management experience

  • Knowledge of contract law an advantage

  • Good commercial awareness

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Car driver with less than six points
